March 2019

The new season is nearly upon us and prospects are looking much more positive than last year with warmer, drier conditions forecast for the next couple of weeks. Early season tactics tend to see members fishing deeper using traditional wet flies and jig nymphs. However good hatches of march browns and dark olives can tempt fish to look to the surface for a feed. The club currently has availability for new members please see our permits page for further details.

A gentle reminder that once the season gets underway the grayling will be into spawning mode and we will see salmon and seatrout smolts preparing for their migration to sea. If you come across any of the aforementioned please handle with can and release back into the water with minimal contact. Wishing all members and those visitors to the river a successful season!
