2017

Its been quite an eventful season so far with the fishing being fantastic and improvements to the river starting to take shape. In partnership with the Land of Iron and Oak and the Tyne Rivers Trust the club has been undertaking several improvement projects along our water. Tackling invasive species and willow weaving to stabilise banks has been really productive so thanks to everyone that has volunteered their time.

Its been a funny old summer and the river could do with a good flood so freshen things up however that hasn’t prevented members from submitting some good returns. Those fishing into dusk have been really well rewarded with some cracking surface action. There appears to be some significant numbers of small grayling this year which hopefully bodes well for the years to come.

As we move into September we may just see some of the larger browns putting in an appearance as they fatten up before spawning!
