As this article is written the river is again in spate as a result from the weekends torrential downpours! Hopefully we are due a dry week which will see levels and clairty return to normal. Prior to this recent rain the Mayfly hatches had been in full swing and anglers experienced some great surface sport once the fish switched onto these high protein treats!
The start of the coarse angling season is nearly upon us and the club has membership available for stretch below Derwenthaugh Dam. Last year saw members return some great bags including dace, chub & roach. The trick is to find these species before the trout find your bait! Anyone interested in taking up this membership should contact Alan Dodd (details can be found on membership & ticket page).
Congratulations goes to Simon Robinson a club member for over 20 years who represented England at the recent World Fly Fishing Championships in Slovenia, England finished a respectable 7th.
The committee would also like to remind all members and day tickets to please make a note of your catch returns and send this information to Alan Dodd email email@example.com
